Sketchbook Prompts #1

I know I don’t always have ideas when the urge to draw hits so perhaps you’ve had that same experience: motivation but no inspiration.

Each week, I share prompts, music playlists and other updates with my newsletter subscribers. Here are some of the prompts that I’ve shared with them. Of course, there’s more to my newsletters than these prompts and my dear penpals get first dibs on everything so if you want to join the club, please do sign up!

• Sketch a character from your favourite cartoon (that's my sketch version of Orco from one of my childhood favourites, He-Man)

• Draw an inanimate object in your room as being "alive" 

• Try a new medium or a new combination of media

• Paint using only two colours

• Draw/paint something that begins with the same first letter as your name
